As our business grows we will strive to offer an abundance of fun and interesting classes to tantalize every knitter, whether you are just starting out or want to try something new. Unlike most knitting classes, you will have the benefit of two teachers and receive more individualized attention in every class. We will be taking full advantage of Albuquerque's beautiful weather and hold many of our classes outdoors with our little 1955 Terry Trailer always in tow.

Instructor(s): Chris Appleton & Ramona Chesley

2-Sessions
Dates:Sundays, February 12th & 19th
Time:11am-1pm
Location: The Yarn Store at Nob Hill

The SweaterGirls spent their winter vacation learning how to knit diamonds. Entrelac creates a beautiful woven diamond pattern using simple knits and purls. Our project will be a simple but beautiful headband that will be sure to impress all of those non-entrelac knitters.

Skills: Must be able to knit, purl, increase, decrease and pick-up stitches.

Materials: For the first class please bring size 7 or 8 needles and 50 yards of any worsted weight yarn for knitting practice swatches. Straight needles work best but are not required. We will discuss extra materials needed for the headband at our first class.

Have A Knitting Party!
Instructor(s): Ramona Chesley & Chris Appleton

Of course all those "other" parties are fun, but they can't keep you warm on a cold winter's night.
  • There must be a minimum of four people in a private party/class and a maximum of ten people. We keep the parties smaller because we have learned through experience many students need lots of one-on-one attention when they are learning to knit.
  •  We suggest starting with a two hour party/class. A two hour party/class will give you an introduction to yarn and needles and start you casting-on, learning the knit stitch and binding-off. Most students will learn enough in one class to start and complete a simple scarf or cowl. After the first party/class you can decide if you would like to have a second party and continue your lessons.
  • The amount for a Beginning Knitting party/class is $36.50 plus tax. It is $10 an hour, per person, for the party/class and $16.50
for materials. Materials include a size 7 circular needle, 250 yards of merino wool yarn (you will have a choice of colors), basic
instructions, and a beginner pattern that will not use more then 250 yards of yarn. If a student wants to bring their own materials they
will only be charged the class fee of $10 plus tax an hour.
If you decide to continue with a second party/class, you will only be charged the $10 plus tax hourly rate. Different rates will apply to different knitting parties.
  •  We do request that all students prepay for the first party/class via PayPal or check. If you have a PayPal account you can choose to use   your credit card or bank account, if you do not have a PayPal account you may still use PayPal but will only have the option of paying   with a credit card
  •  For those of you who already know how to knit, pick something new you and your friends would like to learn: embellishing your clothes, knitting socks or lace,  finishing an old project, knitting a rag rug. Call or email us and we can discuss ideas for your party/class. Different rates will apply to different parties.
  • If you have questions, or would like to reserve a time for a party, please call 280-7557
